The Charity run a special train that transports you around Snowdon, Scafell Pike and Ben Nevis via the closest railway stations, The Eskdale railway and bus connections. The event was run in fantasitc weather and was a memorable occasion for everyone. We ran the tour on June 3rd 2007 and visited various locations around Bristol. These included Portbury, Bath, Avonmouth BBHT, Severn Beach, Westerleigh Oil Terminal and Tytherington Quarry. We used 50049 Defiance, 31105 and 31285 the later two lent to us as a one off special by Network Rail. On the day about 500 people enjoyed the trip and we raised about £19,500 this figure is still climbing following additional donations from Network Rail. If you found this site because you were a traveller on the train thanks for your support and who knows maybe in 2008 or 2009 we might try and do something all over again. Not all pictures are mine but are provided with permission of the photographer.
